On behalf of the Government of Puducherry, I take this opportunity to welcome you to the official web site of the Pondicherry Co-operative Spinning Mills Ltd., popularly known as "SPINCO".

The Pondicherry Co-operative Spinning Mills Ltd. is a Govt. funded institution, registered as co-operative society under the Pondicherry Co-operative Societies Act 1972. This project was taken up in Puducherry with the objective of promoting industrialization and providing employment opportunity to the people of Union Territory of Puducherry.

This mill produces cotton yarn and has a total capacity of 35,160 spindles with 700 employees. Commercial production of cotton yarn was started in the year 1984 and since its inception "SPINCO" is supplying superior quality yarn to the reputed textile mills of different parts of the country and the world.

Since its inception "SPINCO" is performing well and on several occasions it has been awarded best performing co-operative spinning mills at all India level. It has been recently certified with ISO 9001: 2000 for maintaining world level quality standards and is in the process of obtaining other international certificates such as EMS 14000, SA 8000 and OHSAS 18000. I hope this trend will continue and "SPINCO" will set an example in the textile industry sector with more such achievements and laurels in the years to come.
